After a great time in
Wrangell, it was time to start toward home. On July 5th, we
tanked up, re-supplied, and headed the short distance to Berg Bay. A local
boat came by the float and we asked if he had seen any brown bears in the
area. He suggested the Bradfield Canal. The next morning Halcyon
and Wanderer went the length of the canal. We saw one young brown
bear and the crew on Halcyon saw it as well as a sow and cubs. After
40 miles on the canal, we started for home. The mind set was now
