From Ft Myers Beach, we head north, out of San Carlos Bay
into the Gulf of Mexico. We leave Sanibel, Captiva and Cayo Costa
islands to starboard. About 50 miles later, Vamoose enters Charlotte
Harbor at Boca Grande Pass between Gasparilla and Cayo Costa islands.
The pass provides access to the northern reaches of Pine Island Sound - our
northernmost destination. Here we will take a right and go back to San
Carlos Bay through Pine Island Sound using the Florida West Coast
intracoastal waterway.
We anchored between Cabbage
Key and Useppa and went ashore to visit Cabbage Key.
