After one night in Naples, we motor sailed 30 miles north, in
light air, to Ft. Myers Beach.
The shrimp fleet and
a large gambling boat take up most of the dockage. A shoal occupies
most of the harbor which is scoured by strong currents.
We took a berth at Salty Sam's and enjoyed their outdoor
restaurant. Next to us was the ferry boat "Whale Watcher" that daily
made the run to Key West. It leaves at 8:00 and returns at 21:30.
Looking south along Ft. Myers Beach as we enter
the channel to the harbor.
