From Little Shark, we sailed 60 miles north, rounding Cape
Romano, and putting into Marco Island at Capri Pass. Then we went up
the waterway a few miles to Little Marco Island. We spent three
nights; first, awaiting the passage of a strong cold front and then
waiting for enough water depth to leave. With the water still
very low, we went by dinghy and sounded the waterway back toward Capri Pass.
After deeming the passage possible, we bumped our way out to
Capri Pass and headed for Naples - about 8 miles away. In Naples, we
loaded fuel and took a slip at the city marina for the night.
Naples lies a few miles up the
Gordon River.
The houses are spectacular.
Naples Pier from the Gulf
On the way back to Marathon, we
again put into Naples and anchored in one of the canals inside Gordon Pass.
